What happens to what you type

The form sends exactly the six fields above — nothing else. Your IP address is not recorded, no cookie is set, and there is no third party involved: the page loads from one server and talks to that same server.

The message waits in a small database on that server only until it has been moved into the mailbox, then it is deleted there. Details are on the privacy page.

Why the short pause when you press send

Your browser solves a small puzzle before the message goes out. It costs a second or two and it costs an automated sender far more, which is what keeps this form usable without a CAPTCHA — a CAPTCHA would mean loading code from another company onto a page that promises it contacts nobody.

If JavaScript is off, the form cannot do that. The address above works exactly as well.
